In this photo, a girl in a black shirt and black pants is sitting in a chair with her leg pulled toward her chest. In the background, faux cobwebs are present. Her face is painted with white and black makeup in a skull-like manner and she is not smiling in the picture.
Make-up as creativity.
We learned about the "perfect" selfie and what the deep neural network thinks of the pictures we post of ourselves on the internet. Despite my face being covered in skull makeup, this is one of my best received selfies in terms of likes. Is this because I fit the mold of a blonde white girl or because of my uniqueness and the makeup itself?
Makeup (like selfies) is normally ridiculed in society for being narcissistic. Yet here, it is being used creatively like a work of art. This alternative use of makeup speaks to a certain aspect of myself and tells the audience something they otherwise may not have know about me: I'm creative.
